The Sea Glass Story

Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge at Best Western Agate Beach Inn has been reimagined many times, but its current iteration offers visitors a refreshing and uniquely local dining experience. Since opening in the 1980's as Casey's Bar & Grill (A Hilton Hotels restaurant chain), then Rookies Sports Lounge and Starfish Grill and now the newly renovated Sea Glass Bistro and Lounge. Since the hotel was purchased in 2017, the restaurant has been refreshed for a reimagined experience that allows up to 108-person dining capacity with outside fireside dining. The first thing on the agenda when creating Sea Glass was a search for the perfect culinary team that has the skill and expertise to take on creating a new and inviting dining experience.

Our Chef's

Executive Chef Bob along with Chef Stephanie have brought a fresh perspective to the menu and dining experience. The culinary team has twelve years previous experience working together making the cohesion seamless. Chef Bob, a Certified Executive Chef in the American Culinary Federation, has placed the sourcing of local food and beverage at the pinnacle of the vision for Sea Glass.

Our chefs are committed to excellence, not only in their cuisine but also in their team. To cultivate a team of exceptional culinary and front-of-house professionals, they emphasize rigorous training and a supportive, collaborative environment. New team members undergo comprehensive training programs that include mastering fundamental techniques, learning the bistro's signature dishes, and understanding the importance of locally sourced ingredients. This training extends to the front-of-house team, where servers learn to provide impeccable service that complements the culinary experience. Chef Bob and Chef Stephanie foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging their chefs and servers to experiment and refine their skills. By prioritizing mentorship and professional development, they ensure that each team member is well-prepared to contribute to the bistro's vision of delivering unforgettable dining experiences.

Hours & Location

Newel Seafood's

One of the many local purveyors that Sea Glass relies on is Newel Seafoods out of Newport, OR. Mark and Lisa Newell have been a cornerstone of the local fishing community since 1975. Their current boat, Silver Quest, is a 47' Sunnyford Fiberglass. This versatile vessel is configured for crabbing during the winter and spring, then adjusted for halibut and cod through July, and finally for salmon and albacore through October.
